meet the alstonville teaching team

Jenna – Juniors & Seniors Teacher (5-28+yrs)

I’m the head associate and established the club in 2007. I grew up as a ‘physie girl’ in the Macksville area always assisting with the younger girls.

After a move to Ballina to study & become a Chartered Accountant, I found Physie was a great way to stay fit and to meet new friends.

I now have three children (you’ll probably see them around often), Lilla, Nash, and Maeve. My wonderful supportive partner, Wade, who allows me to continue my love of teaching physie. Please bare with me a times, life can get pretty hectic with being a working Mum, Partner and a physie teacher to all your beautiful girls.

My biggest joy is seeing the smile on the girls faces each and every week. Seeing girls work hard and achieve their goals is a bonus.

Olivia – Juniors & Seniors Teacher (5-16yrs)

Olivia has been doing physie for many years now and has achieved great success such as placing first at zone when she was 11, and making the Sydney Opera House Finals two years in a row and placing 4th in the 1st year seniors in 2016!

Olivia has just completed her HSC and is now helping teaching our preschoolers. Her dedication and determination is very much admired, and she is an inspiration for the younger Physie girls.

Pennie – Juniors & Seniors Teacher (5-16yrs)

Pennie has been apart of our club since it opened in 2007. She is currently helping Jenna teach the juniors as well as doing her own Physie.

Pennie has achieved great things since joining our club with her big sister Sophie, such as placing 1st at Zone in the 11 years back in 2012, to making the Opera House National Finals in 2017 in the 1st Year Seniors.

Pennie enjoys teaching and is a great role model for the younger girls.

Ellie – Physie Fairies, Juniors & Seniors Teacher (3-16yrs)

Ellie joined physie in her teen years and quickly fell in love with our sport. She has achieved much success and recently placed 2nd at the senior national finals at the Sydney opera house.

Ellie’s favourite part of physie is teaching our wonderful juniors each week and inspiring them to achieve their own goals. Ellie brings the extra sparkle to our classes and all our members wish they had her pointy toes.

Gaye – Ladies & Senior Teacher

Gaye has been a Physie lady for many years now and joined Alstonville Plateau Physie in 2017 teaching ladies and senior girls classes. Gaye has taught and competed with three different styles of Physie and has been with BJP since 2004, the year she won the National Title. I love coming to classes each week and sharing my love of physie, seeing the improvement each week, then watching all the ladies achievements at competitions and of course the wonderful physie friendships made.

We love having Gaye as a part of the Alstonville team as she inspires our ladies and seniors, with her knowledge and passion for this dance sport.

Emma – Ladies Teacher

Tamara – Juniors Teacher (5-12yrs)

I first enjoyed doing Physie from a young age to my teen years at Ballina. I was drawn back to Phyise at ‘Alstonville Plateau Physie’ after having my daughters Lucinda and Amalia as I wanted to share the joy of Physie.

I have been fortunate enough to final each year at zone as well as receive some zone places and compete at Nationals competitions. I started as an associate at Alstonville in 2023 and have thoroughly enjoyed teaching the Juniors watching them gain skills, strength, friendships and confidence.  As I have watched Physie evolve over the years I have learnt that Team work does make the dream work!

“Physie is an elegant way of developing not only fitness but also grace, strength and focus in our girls and women.
At BJP, what we are most proud of is how Physie weaves its way throughout the lives of Australian families.
Generations of women have discovered lifelong friendships, a true sense of community and a sport for life in Physie.”
